PET Sheet
The New Standard for Face Shields: Premium Grade PET Sheets (Anti-fog & Anti-static)
For professionals manufacturing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)—especially Face Shields for medical personnel and laboratory environments—standard materials are often insufficient. Common issues like “fogging from breathing” or “static electricity” can become major obstacles during critical tasks.
Why is this PET sheet more cost-effective than general plastics? The answer lies in its Functional Coating, specifically designed for real-world performance:
1.Anti-fog (Double-sided coating)
Standard PET: When the wearer breathes, heat and moisture hit the plastic surface, causing white fog that obstructs visibility.
Premium Anti-fog PET: Specially treated to prevent condensation, ensuring crystal-clear vision even during long hours of use or in high-humidity environments.
Premium Grade PET: Features a specialized Anti-fog coating that prevents condensation. Even in frigid air-conditioned rooms or when exposed to the moisture of one’s breath, the sheet remains crystal clear, ensuring unobstructed visibility throughout the entire operation.
2. Anti-static
Importance: Specifically engineered for use in laboratories and cleanrooms. This feature minimizes the risk of dust particles or pathogens being electrostatically attracted to the face shield. Furthermore, it prevents static discharge from interfering with sensitive medical instruments and electronic equipment.
Due to the high sensitivity of this product, to ensure the production of a flawless Face Shield, we recommend the following operational guidelines for the production department:
- Coating Awareness
The PET sheets are manufactured and coated directly from the factory in rolls before being die-cut. This process results in a slight difference in coating concentration between the two sides:
Inside Surface: This is the side naturally curved inward. It features 100% coating saturation. (It is highly recommended to face this side toward the wearer’s face).
Outside Surface: This side features approximately 90% coating saturation.
- Assembly Caution
- Workspace: Assembly must be performed on a smooth, flat table. Avoid rough surfaces (such as washed stone or grit) as they will scratch the sheets.
- Recommendation: Use a rubber mat, Plaswood, Acrylic, or a layer of velvet fabric to protect the material surface during assembly.
- Cleanliness: The PET sheets arrive clean from the factory. Do not wipe or clean them before assembly to minimize the risk of “hairline” scratches.
- QC Checklist & Techniques
- Wear Gloves: QC staff must wear sanitary gloves at all times to prevent fingerprints.
- Light Inspection: Inspect the clarity of each sheet individually by holding it up to a light source.
- No Protective Film: This specific product does not have a peel-off protective film (to maintain the integrity of the specialized coating). Do not attempt to scratch or peel the surface.
User Maintenance Guide (End-user Instructions)
- For Medical Professionals
High-Risk Exposure: In high-contamination environments, it is highly recommended to treat the product as disposable (single-use) for maximum safety.
Coating Longevity: Frequent cleaning with alcohol will gradually degrade the Anti-fog coating. Its effectiveness typically diminishes after approximately 2–3 disinfections.
- For General Use:
Cleaning: Use a soft cloth dampened with clean water or a highly diluted mild soap solution to gently wipe the surface.
Technique: Focus cleaning efforts on the front (outside) of the shield. Avoid heavy rubbing or scrubbing on the back (inside), as this is the primary area where the concentrated Anti-fog coating is applied.
Storage : Store at standard room temperature in a well-ventilated area. Avoid extreme heat and do not expose to direct sunlight, as UV rays and high temperatures will cause the plastic to become brittle and lead to the degradation of the functional coating.
Transportation : PET sheets are highly sensitive to physical impact. Do not drop or throw the boxes. Always ensure the product is wrapped with high-density air bubble wrap or extra-thick protective plastic padding for added security during transit.
